The 2025 World Exposition, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “Osaka-Kansai Expo”) concluded on Monday, October 13, 2025. The private pavilion “BLUE OCEAN DOME,” exhibited by the nonprofit organization ZERI JAPAN and its pavilion partner, Saraya Co., Ltd., welcomed more than 1.12 million visitors and viewed exhibits in three domes.
Dome A of “BLUE OCEAN DOME” featured exhibits on the water cycle, Dome B on plastic marine pollution, and Dome C on the future of ocean networks. We received understanding and solidarity from many people, both in Japan and overseas.

This exhibition has been in preparation for five years, starting in 2020, and we would like to once again express our sincere gratitude to everyone involved for successfully completing the event.
This achievement will not end with the Expo, but will be passed on as a legacy through the “Blue Ocean Project” until 2030, when the SDGs expire, and beyond. Today, ocean climate change is causing extreme weather, and we are facing a number of serious ocean issues, including a decline in biodiversity, a decline in fisheries, marine plastic pollution, and the health damage caused by microplastics. We would be extremely grateful if the solidarity born at “BLUE OCEAN DOME” could become part of a movement to use the power of business to solve these issues. We appreciate your continued cooperation.

Aiming to Achieve the SDGs by 2030
Continuing and Implementing the “Blue Ocean Project”
The SDGs aim to achieve their goals by 2030. Toward this goal, the NPO ZERI JAPAN and Saraya Co., Ltd. will continue and implement the “Blue Ocean Project,” leveraging the network gained at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. In implementing the project, we will work in collaboration with the Blue Ocean Initiative (a general incorporated association) and the Blue Ocean Forum, sponsored by Nikkei Inc., to invite the participation of many companies and organizations toward the conservation and sustainable use of the oceans, and we will continue our efforts to achieve even greater social impact.
Saraya Co., Ltd. plans to implement a number of initiatives in sequence, including: 1) reducing plastic marine pollution in Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture; 2) kelp forest regeneration projects in Hokkaido and Tohoku; 3) land-based shrimp farming in Wakayama Prefecture; 4) implementing sustainable fishing in Mauritania; 5) promoting new freezing technology; 6) designing and manufacturing the sustainable ship “Blue Coaster”; 7) marine education using the sailing ship “Mirai e”; and 8) research and development of sustainable fishing in Morocco and Indonesia.
In addition, with regard to Saraya’s plastic containers and packaging and resource circulation, we aim to 1) utilize recycled plastics; 2) develop plastic-saving containers; 3) strengthen the collection and recycling of waste plastics; and 4) utilize bioplastics. In addition, we will work with our subsidiary, Kansai Recycling Network Co., Ltd., to achieve a circular economy in the use of plastics.
Finally, to advance this business, it is important to value practice as well as theory. With your support and utilizing our network, we hope to contribute even a little through our business to preventing plastic marine pollution, addressing ocean climate change, and utilizing marine resources sustainably. We would like to once again express our gratitude for your support and cooperation in the “BLUE OCEAN DOME” at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, and we look forward to your continued cooperation in realizing our various projects through 2030.
