“BLUE OCEAN DOME” Virtual Pavilion is now open!

The “BLUE OCEAN DOME” virtual pavilion has opened in the world of “Virtual Expo: Flying Yumeshima,” the virtual venue for the Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai. In the virtual space, you can easily learn about marine issues on the beach and underwater, and enjoy the unique experience of the virtual world, such as watching live broadcasts from the actual venue.

What is the world’s first “Virtual Expo”?

The 2025 Expo Osaka-Kansai is drawing attention for its appearance as a “new Expo” that will be held simultaneously in the real Yumeshima venue and in virtual space. Visitors can enter the world of the Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai as avatars and enjoy the exhibits and events of each exhibitor while touring pavilions and event facilities that are reproductions of actual buildings. At the Virtual Expo, which can be accessed from all over the world, an experience that transcends the boundaries of time and place awaits.

Have fun learning about marine issues on the beach and in the sea with people from all over the world

The virtual venue is made up of an archipelago, a reference to Japan being an island nation. The “BLUE OCEAN DOME,” located on the “Island of Earth,” has three rooms, just like the actual pavilion. In the first room, you can stroll along the beach, where the ocean is beautiful but where marine debris washes up. In the second underwater space, you can learn about marine issues together with sea turtles. And in the final deep-sea area, events held at the real venue are live-streamed. Another feature is that you can interact with users from all over the world via voice and chat, and the best part of the virtual venue is that you can enjoy the event together without worrying about time.

We hope that visiting these two venues
will lead to deeper learning.

At the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, which will be held for approximately 6 months from April 13th to October 13th, 2025, you will be able to fully enjoy the “BLUE OCEAN DOME” both in real life and virtually.

By learning about ocean issues while having fun in the virtual space, we hope that people will become interested and visit the actual venue. Or, after experiencing the exhibits at the venue, they can talk about ocean issues with users from all over the world in the virtual space. By having fun going back and forth between the two venues in this way, we hope that people will gain a deeper understanding of ocean-related issues and efforts to create a rich ocean.

Please come and visit the “BLUE OCEAN DOME” virtual pavilion using your favorite medium, such as your smartphone, PC, or VR goggles.
