“BLUE OCEAN DOME” Completion Ceremony Held

A completion ceremony was held at Dome C of the BLUE OCEAN DOME on Thursday, March 27, 2025, just before the opening of the Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai.

The ceremony was attended by about 50 guests and people involved in the construction, including the Saraya Co., Ltd. Managing Director Ittoku Saraya. And Shigeru Ban, the CEO of Shigeru Ban Architects Inc., which was in charge of the architecture, and Kenya Hara, the CEO of Japan Design Center Inc., which handled the overall production. A priest was invited from Munakata Taisha Shrine, a World Heritage Site known as the god of the sea who grants blessings such as safety at sea and bountiful catches, to hold a completion ceremony to report and give thanks for the safe completion of the architecture and exhibition interior.

The Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai will finally open on Sunday, April 13th.

Over the course of the roughly six months until Monday, October 13th, we hope to welcome as many visitors as possible and will strive to operate our pavilions safely.
