ZERI Japan held the Climate Emergency Network (CEN) inaugural meeting at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo on November 18th Wednesday.
Since the event was held in the COVID-19 pandemic, we restricted the number of people, heeded social distance, hand sanitization, temperature measurement, etc., as infection prevention measures, and canceled the convivial party planned for after the meeting.
Even under such circumstances, leaders from various fields took the stage and gave their inspirational words of encouragement.
-We must recognize the climate change occurring on the entire planet as a crisis for humankind and take concrete actions. It is necessary to changes significantly the way economic activities and society should be. We must change Japan and change the world. What should we do about that? What can we do? The requirements that make it possible are actually in place. What is needed is a strong will and action to change.
There were issues raised from various angles, success stories, and suggestions for the future.
We strongly felt that we must do our best as the CEN’s administration office.
